The Kingdom of Morocco, located at the northwestern tip of Africa, spans 459,000 square kilometers (excluding Western Sahara) and has a population of approximately 36.83 million (2024). Its capital is Rabat, the “White City” and one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities.
Morocco boasts a rich cultural heritage and is home to nine UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The Four Imperial Cities are distinguished by unique colors:

💚 Red City: Marrakesh — gateway to the Sahara, with the enchanting Djemaa el-Fna square and its timeless “Arabian Nights” atmosphere

Chefchaouen — the “Blue Pearl,” famous for its stairways and walls painted in shades of blue. Casablanca — Morocco’s largest city and financial hub; the Hassan II Mosque, partially built over the Atlantic Ocean, features the world’s tallest minaret at 210 meters.
Other remarkable heritage sites include the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the medina of Essaouira, and the Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou.
Morocco is Africa’s fifth-largest economy, successfully transitioning from phosphate and agriculture dependence to become a major automotive manufacturing hub and a renewable energy leader. Morocco holds around 70% of world phosphate reserves, and fertilizer exports reached nearly $9.98 billion in 2025. The automotive sector produces over 700,000 vehicles annually, making Morocco Africa’s largest car manufacturer.
Chinese citizens are exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 90 days in Morocco. Travelers should prepare return flight tickets, hotel reservations, sufficient foreign currency, and any relevant documents for inspection. Drones are strictly prohibited without prior permission. Visitors should respect local customs and laws, including avoiding photographing royal palaces, government buildings, and military facilities.
Morocco was the first North African country to sign a Belt and Road Initiative cooperation document with China.
